🐈 Everything You Need to Know About the Siberian Cat
Origins & Appearance
The Siberian is a force of nature, originating from a cross between the local wild cat (felis silvestris) of the Ural Mountains and the Central Siberian Plateau, and Russian domestic cats. To survive the harsh winters of its homeland, it developed a medium-long, smooth, and waterproof coat, lined with a very dense undercoat. A true wild teddy-bear look, perfectly adapted to the extreme cold!
A Unique Character: The "Dog-Cat"
To us, they are simply the most wonderful cats in the world. Deeply attached to humans, they truly establish themselves as members of the family. A Siberian would a thousand times prefer to go on vacation with you rather than stay home alone!
Very well-balanced and affectionate, they sleep about 16 hours a day (allowing you to go to work with a light heart). The rest of the time, they fully deserve their nickname of "dog-cats": your companion will follow you everywhere, wanting to participate in everything you do, whether it's cleaning, DIY, or cooking. Watch what you put in your pot, your Siberian has their eye on you!
The Magic of the Hypoallergenic Coat ✨
This is the great specialty of the race: research has proven that Siberians produce a significantly lower amount of the Fel d 1 protein, the main culprit behind human cat allergies.
However, zero risk does not exist. If you are allergic, we prudently invite you to come and do an allergy test in the presence of our cats.

⏱️ The test is by appointment and lasts about 30 minutes.
Health & Selection: Pedigree Excellence
The Siberian is a hardy and robust breed, with an average life expectancy of 14 to 16 years.
We regularly participate in cat shows to guarantee our kittens a pedigree worthy of the name. To obtain the title of LOOF Champion, a cat must receive 3 favorable opinions from 3 different judges, which requires a minimum score of 93/100 compared to the breed standards! All our cats descend from prestigious lineages (Champions, Grand Champions, European and World Champions).
-
Health-wise: Our breeding cats from external bloodlines are all tested for FIV-FELV, HCM (cardiomyopathy), PKD (kidneys), and PKDef. For our home-born bloodlines, the exceptional hindsight we have on their genealogy and their strict veterinary follow-up allows us to perform additional tests only in case of doubt.
🥣 Their Daily Life at Home
A Diet Chosen with Hindsight
We have tested all the trends (grain-free, high meat content, BARF...) before making a definitive choice for our cats' health. Today, we trust Royal Canin, which offers our companions excellent digestion and a beautiful coat texture.
-
The routine: Kibbles are available day and night. Every morning, they receive a portion of wet food, and several times a week, fresh natural food in the evening (all details are in our Diet and Care sheet).
Hygiene & Training
-
Grooming: The Siberian manages its coat very well on its own. Regular brushing (from daily to weekly depending on the season) is enough, especially during shedding season. Our advice: give them good habits from a very young age!
-
Training: Let's not lie... a cat is still a cat! If they want to misbehave, at best, they will wait until your back is turned. But with patience, gentleness, lots of love, and a few treats as rewards, we can work miracles. Talk to your cat, they will answer you!
